KiScon L.A. / post 1/ Panel Rec List

KiScon was AWESOME and I hope there'll be one next year too! I so would go, even if they'd held it in Kuala Lumpur.

Anyway, I'll post more about it later but this here is the list the group came up with in the panel

Connie Faddis
(quote [info]catalenamara
 :
I was one of two people to mention Connie Faddis. She was not a K/S writer, but rather one of the very early gen/adult writers.
Both of us who commented on her work entered fandom in the early 70s. I commented at the panel that Connie was the first writer whose work showed me how very good fanfic could be. She excelled at characterization, plot, pacing, and "voice" - professional quality all the way, along all the true deep emotion the best fanfic has. It's a shame her work isn't online.)

Jenna (Hilary) Sinclair

UK Jess

JackHawksmoor

Carolyn  Spencer

Dread Nought : http://dread.slashcity.net/

Zines:

Charisma 12

Universal Constants  (Reboot e-zine)

And, mentioned in and read aloud from in the Gol Panel:

Duet for One Voice by Carolyn Spencer

Ah - thank you so much!!

I knew she was mentioned at some point but couldn't quite place it anymore. If you don mind, I copy your comment in my post as I think it would helpful and interesting it is anyway :)

I will link to this list over at KSC and lj too, am just posting the Round Robin story as well and wait until the post is done too.

I hope Carolyn was happy about her name mentioned! She's together with Jenna one of my favourite authors and I'm so excited to meet her at Shore Leave. I love her work very much.

It was SO AMAZING to meet you!!! I could have asked a million questions more and I thank you for having been there, truly.

And I guess....See you soon!

Thanks for posting this, I wrote everything down in a notebook at the panel, but since the third box of zines I was shipping back to my house wasn't completely full, I put that notebook in the box so all the zines would be held in place and not be damaged during the trip to my house.

But since my packages are still on their way, I don't have access to the notebook right now, so I was going crazy trying to remember what everyone recced.

But now I know, so YAY~~~

Have I mentioned how great it was? I'm not sure I have...*g*

Am also quite stunned to see my name among those amazing writers. Whoever brought that fic up has some startling endurance!

I clicked this link via kirkspock for the sole purpose of adding to my 'must-read' list and then sat here, mouth agape, when I saw Leave No Soul Behind got a mention.

Just ... wow.

This is a franchise with such an amazing fan base and an incredible surplus of writing talent that I really don't know what to say.

Well ... apart from the fact that I'm really flattered and kind of glowy and happy right now. Thanks for sharing this, I'd never have known otherwise :)

You're very welcome!

And I'm glad you followed to link to find out one of your stories was mentioned. And quite a couple of others in the panel supported the mentioning btw.

This fandom is awesome, isn't it? Enjoy the glow and happiness!!

Thanks for commenting,
Kindly,

I'm glad you could find new stuff on this list! I myself haven't read all of them and I'm looking forward to going through them too at some point soon.

So, enjoy reading!

As for the pictures: I didn't really dress up and I'm afraid I can't post pictures of others as I do not know whether they'd want it, you know. Sorry! Should I see on any lj con pictures, I'll send you the link, okay?

Thanks so much for the comment :)
