Double Drabble: Constellations

Double Drabble: Constellations

When Spock asked to accompany him down to the planet to observe specific astronomical features, Kirk didn't hesitate. They beamed down together after the end of their shift.

In the planetary not-night they were captivated by the breathtaking events at the horizon.
The palest sun of the star trio, illuminated by its sisters, dazzled when the moon approached and let its orange light merge with the pale sun. After only instants they seemed inseparable. The meteor shower lit the atmosphere; in the distance droplets of light floated and diminished in the twilight.

Spock stepped closer to Kirk. Both immediately felt the welcoming warmth of their bond while their hands met and held. Now and then they looked at each other, kissed gently, and let their minds entwine, expressing silently what words could not.

Asked about it later, the Vulcan would slightly tilt his head and take the time to speak of the impressive interplay of the stellar bodies, and an attentive observer will spot a bright sparkle in his eyes. But the human would, with the same sparkle in his gaze, answer that this had been the moment when the moon kissed the sun and the stars danced to it.

This was lovely! I loved the parallelism between the moon and the sun and Spock and Kirk, and also just how peaceful this felt.

Thank you for the kind words! I can imagine how it must have felt reading it with the background of the Hubble movie - and I just had to let them kiss under the stars and some point :)

As for the hint regarding the layout: Thank you as well! Unfortunately I'm totally inexperienced in that LJ tech stuff and my LJ design was made for me and I can't reach the girl who did it anymore :(
I kind of fear to change anything as I have the irrational thought everything will just vanish.
Anyway: I did change the text color for now. Thank you so much for the advise!
